We got our start through U. S. government funding, and now we want to use our capabilities to promote the development of geothermal energy to combat climate change. We have experience putting together networks of stations with our own equipment, and in operating existing networks. We can use networks to monitor local seismicity or, if it is dense enough, use tomography to locate geothermal reservoirs.
Geothermal Seismology Group offers seismic recording and analysis services at a surprisingly affordable cost. We determined the minimum requirements for effective seismic monitoring in Berkeley, California, and developed our own recording equipment, installation methods and automated processing systems that keep the cost low.
